28,039 notesAll this. The language being used is the exact same language that I experienced being used during the 80s and 90s to demonise gay men and women. And not just the extremes either, this was the “reasonable” people for whom the fact same sex relationships were legal now meant that the gay rights issue was done and anything else was just putting other people in danger. Don’t let them tell you anti-trans rhetoric is about protecting people, it’s not. It is purely about keeping a very small minority of people downtrodden. If it *were* about protection they would look at the way rape and assault cases are investigated and taken to trial, they would address issues of safety of women in general, they would address misogyny and sexist systems. They wouldn’t put the blame for these systemic issues on trans women as if they were in charge for millennia while heterosexual, cisgender men are given a free pass yet again.
